As previously mentioned, this is the eighth Alec Pargrew story to be published. It also basically comprises the introduction with some abridgement of Sticky Wicket, the first Alec Pargrew novel, hopefully to be followed soon by another entitled Cadaver With A Red Dress On. In addition to the selection of this story, Suspense also had the discerning taste to include interviews with leading writers in the field of mystery/suspense/horror/thriller fiction, e.g., Anne Rice and Dean Koontz. There are also numerous and thorough reviews of films and books in similar veins. The magazine stopped its print version years ago so I can’t run out to a news stand and buy fifty copies to mail to people. (See how my imagination runs? What an alte kokker I am!). You really should peruse the issue just to see what one of my very rare sympathetic characters looks like.
