I must admit being remiss in two ways. One, I haven’t posted any blog entries in a hell of a long time. Two, I neglected to mention that my short story, The Occultation Suit, has been republished in We Walk Invisible, an anthology of the subject of invisible men published by Chupa Cabra House. The anthology was inspired by H. G. Wells’s classic story. My story was originally published in a UK speculative fiction magazine, Twisted Tongue, Issue 14, December 2009. Without trying to spoil things while still trying to perk your interest, the story deals with a Soviet secret policeman who plots to save an absent-minded professor and his beautiful daughter when the professor’s amazing invention leaves Stalin unimpressed.
While I like all of my stories (I consider them children for whom I have to find a home), this is another particular favorite of mine. I got the idea for it after reading Stalin: The Court Of The Red Tsar by Simon Sebag Montefiore. I recommend it highly to anyone interested in learning about this perfectly horrible little man.
